Premier League leaders Liverpool will travel to Brentford this afternoon as they look to return to their winning ways.

During the week, Arne Slot’s side were held at Nottingham Forest, with Diogo Jota equalising for the Reds. The Dutch manager has most of his squad ready, but Joe Gomez is definitely out. Jota, who scored on Wednesday, might also be unavailable as he missed training on Thursday and will be evaluated before the weekend.

Brentford showed great spirit in their last game, coming back to draw 2-2 with Manchester City. They scored twice in the last ten minutes to earn a point. Ethan Pinnock, Kristoffer Ajer, and record signing Igor Thiago are still unavailable due to injuries and illness. Young player Jayden Meghoma is on loan at Preston for the rest of the season.

Liverpool’s lead in the Premier League has decreased to four points after drawing with Nottingham Forest. Despite a recent loss to Spurs, they still have a game in hand on Arsenal.

Liverpool eventually doubled their lead with 20 minutes left. Diaz set up Salah, who skillfully found the bottom corner at the Kop End. Cody Gakpo also had a deflected shot that hit the crossbar, helping Liverpool maintain their perfect start to the season.
