Atalanta overtook the league top spot as they won 3-1 over Parma, making it seventh league win in a row.
Gasperini’s team win in Parma put them on 28 points, same as Inter, but having the edge on goal difference.
It took Atalanta just four minutes into the game to open the scoring. The Bellanova-Retegui duo shined again as the former crossed, with the latter heading home the opener.
Ademola Lookman almost made it 2-0 six minutes after but his goal was ruled out for offside.
However, the Bergamo team eventually made it two goals in the first half. A run from Ruggeri and a tap in from Ederson in the 38th minute, doubled the lead for the visitors.
Parma fought back to reduce the deficit in the second half as Cancellieri outplayed the Atalanta defense and made it 2-1.
Howbeit, Lookman sealed the victory for Atalanta as the Nigerian international beats Zion Suzuki, after been assisted by Juan Cuadrado.
The Nigerian has had two goals disallowed for offside, prior to the third goal.
Meanwhile, Atalanta sits top of the league, awaiting the results from Napoli and Roma’s tie on Sunday.
