Real Madrid came from behind to earn a late away victory at Valencia, despite going down to ten men.
Madrid won 2-1, with late goals from Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham earned them the victory, after Vinicius Junior was red carded.
Los Che were the better side for the opening half hour, creating three clear openings. However, all chances were thwarted by Thibaut Courtois.
The hosts broke the deadlock after 27 minutes as Hugo Duro smashed home a rebound, from Javi Guerra’s saved effort.
Early in the second half, Madrid missed up a huge chance to equalise from the penalty spot. Bellingham sent a poor penalty off the post after Kylian Mbappe had been fouled in the box.
The England international then set up Mbappe for an equaliser few minutes after, only to be denied by VAR.
More woes for Madrid as Vinicius was then shown a straight red card 11 minutes from time for slapping Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
However, Carlo Ancelotti brought on Luka Modric, which then paid off as the Croatian levelled for Madrid.
Modric received a cute pass from Bellingham, timed his run and scored to make it 1-1 in the 85th minute.
Real Madrid completed the comeback with Bellingham’s goal in the 95th minutes. The English midfielder picked up a loose ball, dashed through and finish coolly earn Madrid the victory.
The win moves Madrid top of the league, two points ahead of rivals Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand.
They are also five points ahead of bitter rivals, Barcelona.
