Former Barcelona left back, Marcos Alonso, have joined Celta Vigo, signing a one-year contract.
Alonso was a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Barcelona in June.
Alonso becomes the third signing of the summer for Celta, after snapping up Borja Iglesias and Ilaix Moriba.
The former Chelsea player has been an option for Manchester United following the injury of Luke Shaw but both party could not struck a deal.
He’s received proposals from abroad, but his desire has been to continue in Spain and was linked to Sevilla before signing a contract with Celta.
Celta Vigo have had a very strong start to the new season, winning their first two games before losing 4-3 to Villarreal on Monday night.
Celta’s Head coach, Claudio Giraldez, will hope to strenthen his defence with Alonso’s signing after conceding six goals in three matches.
However, Alonso could make his debut for the Galicians this weekend when they make the trip to face Osasuna.
