Manchester United might have another injury on their hands as right-back Noussair Mazraoui has pulled out of Morocco’s upcoming matches.
Manager Erik ten Hag faced numerous injuries last season. With Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount also out, he’ll be hoping for better luck this season.
Since joining from Bayern Munich in the summer, Mazraoui has made 10 appearances in all competitions, becoming a regular at right-back. Despite a tough season, he’s been one of United’s few positives.
United, currently 14th in the Premier League after seven games, will be hoping Maguire, Garnacho, Mainoo, and Mazraoui are fit for their home match against Brentford on October 19.
Mazraoui was replaced at half-time during their goalless draw with Aston Villa on Sunday, with Victor Lindelof taking over. His national team has now confirmed the 26-year-old won’t participate in Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Central African Republic on October 12 and 15.
This follows United’s centre-back Harry Maguire limping off injured in the same Villa match. While winger Alejandro Garnacho withdrew from Argentina’s squad due to a knee injury. Kobbie Mainoo also pulled out of England’s latest squad with an injury.
