Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-1 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs, to proceed to the last 16.
Kylian Mbappe inspired the victory as he scored an hattrick in front of the home fans, as Madrid wins 6-2 on aggregate.
Mbappe started the party early as he opened the scoring early into the game. The Frenchman received a brilliant long range assist from Raul Asencio, before looping over helpless Ederson.
Things got worse for City, who were missing Haaland in the first 11, lost John Stones to injury.
Meanwhile, Madrid got their second, courtesy of Mbappe’s beautiful finish. Following a nice combination from Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, Mbappe received the ball, brilliantly disposed Josko Gvardiol before beating Ederson after 33 minutes.
The first half ended with Manchester City not having a single shot on target against the Spanish giants.
Meanwhile, Madrid sealed the contest with the third goal, as Mbappe made it a hat-trick. The France forward’s third came just after the hour with a low shot into the bottom left corner.
Man City then pulled one back in the last minute of stoppage time when Nico Gonzalez turned in his first goal for the club after Omar Marmoush’s free-kick hit the bar.
Los Blancos will however, be facing Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the next round.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham will be missing the next fixture, as he received a yellow card in the game.
