Mbappe Kylian’s debut for Real Madrid ended perfectly, as he scored his first goal for the club, won the UEFA Super Cup, and claimed his first-ever UEFA trophy.
Mbappe joined Federico Valverde on the scoresheet as Champions League holders, Madrid won the Super Cup for a record-breaking sixth time on Wednesday night in Warsaw, beating Atalanta 2-0.
Kylian Mbappe scored his first goal for Real Madrid in the 68th minute, capitalizing on Jude Bellingham’s clever setup. Mbappe had previously threatened to score in the 15th minute, but Isak Hien intervened with a crucial block.
Leading the line for the first time in the famous No. 9 shirt, Mbappe played as a central striker, flanked by Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, with Bellingham playing in a slightly deeper role than that he occupied in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Kylian Mbappe, fresh from his impressive campaigns with Monaco and PSG, is driving for success in his debut season with Real Madrid. He sets an ambitious target of scoring 50 goals, confidently asserting, “I have no limit.”
He said during the post-match interview, “We’re at Real Madrid, we have no limit, I have no limit. If I can score 50 goals, it’s 50. But the most important thing is to win and improve as a team because we’re going to win as a team.
Describing his feelings after the night’s success, he said, “It was a great night. I’ve been waiting for this moment a long time, to play in this shirt, with this badge, for these fans. It’s a great moment for me.
Jude Bellingham also hailed Mbappe as the ideal teammate after the debut goal against Atalanta, describing him as “brilliant and sharp”, while also crediting him as a player with so much technical quality.
Mbappe will, however, be making his La Liga debut on Sunday against Mallorca and will be hoping to extend his goal tally for the Spanish giant.
