Mbappe relishes playing for Real Madrid and scoring debut goal

Real Madrid new signing, Kylian Mbappe has expressed his heartfelt joy over playing for the Los Blancos and scoring on his debut.

Mbappe played his first game for Madrid in their 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final, scoring the second goal and his first for the club.

Having joined the Spanish giant from Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman didn’t wait long before marking his name in Madrid history, winning his first UEFA trophy and opening his goal account on his debut.

Speaking after the victory against Atalanta, he explained that it was a magical occasion in Warsaw, as he was delighted at his dream move to Madrid and capping his debut perfectly.

“It was an incredible night and I always dreamed about this type of night, to play in this jersey, with this badge, for these fans and now it’s a reality. Playing for this club, the best club in the world, it’s something crazy. I’m really happy to make my debut today, of course we won a trophy”, he said.

He added, “It’s really important to win a trophy, because everyone won here, and to score a goal, for a striker, to be there, to help my team is always a pleasure. But above all, I was excited to finally play with this team. I’ve been waiting for this day. It’s a great day.”

Following his debut, Mbappe praised his teammates, describing them as “great players”, when asked who he was looking forward to play with and how he would fit into the squad.

“It’s easy to play with them because they are great players. This is Real Madrid, that’s why we are the greatest club in the world, because we have the best players. It’s a pleasure to play with Rodrygo, Vinicius, with Bellingham also, and all the guys there”, he said.

“With everyone. We have the best players in every position here. I’m very pleased with the squad we have. We’re going to keep improving, and I’m determined to lead the way. Today was a positive step forward”, he stated.

He also appreciated the club for assisting him adapt to the new environment upon his arrival in the Spanish capital.

“I have to say thank you to all the guys at the club, the coach, the staff, the players, everybody, because they helped me. My adaptation is so easy because they gave me everything, they have helped me with everything, my house, everything in my life, so I just have to think about football. And that’s what I’m best for, just playing football”, he revealed.

Mbappe signed for Madrid on a free transfer and has a contract with the Spanish outfit until 2029.
