AC Milan played a 1-1 draw at home with AS Roma, as they extended their unbeaten home record against their visitors.
First half goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Paulo Dybala, ensured both teams shared the points.
Milan threatened first as Reijnders free-kick after five minutes was spilt by Mile Slivar. However, the goalkeeper managed to gather at the second attempt.
Roma gathered momentum also, as they tried to open the scoring but efforts from Dybala and Mats Hummels were handled well by Mike Maignan.
The visitors looked close to break the deadlock when Dybala and Alexis Saelemaekers combined to set up Artem Dovbyk, whose low effort struck the post and bounced clear.
However, the hosts struck first, courtesy of Reijnders’ goal. The Dutch placed a first-time finish past Svilar, from Youssouf Fofana’s counter assist in the 16th minute.
However, their advantage only lasted until the half’s midway point. Dovbyk beautifully flicked Niccolò Pisilli’s pass to Dybala, who volleyed the ball sweetly past Maignan to level the scores.
Meanwhile, Milan manager Paulo Fonseca was sent off for two bookable offences before the half-break.
Milan returned stronger in the second interval, as they threatened to restore the lead. However, efforts from Fofana, Samuel Chukwueze and Ismaël Bennacer could not hit the back net.
Claudio Ranieri’s side also tried to fight for a winner but efforts Pisilli and Emerson Royal both missed the target.
The home side were lucky not to concede late on, thanks to Maignan’s crucial save. The Frenchman prevented Stephan El Shaarawy’s attempt from finding the top corner, ensuring the game ended in a tie.
Milan sits on 8th position with 27 points, while Roma are 10th on the table, with 20 points.
Meanwhile, Roma have not defeated AC Milan at San Siro since 2017.
