AC Milan completed an amazing comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Inter Milan, in the Supercoppa Italiana final.

Goals from Theo Hernandez, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham, settled the contest for Sergio Conceicao’s Milan. Rafael Leao inspired all the three goals, after coming in as a substitute in the 50th minute.

Inter Milan struck first in the final minute of the first half. A quick Dimarco throw-in ended with Mehdi Taremi, who kept it for Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine beats Thiaw with a cut back and shot through Theo Hernandez’s legs into the near bottom corner.

The Nerazzurri doubled their lead within 60 seconds of the restart. Taremi brilliantly controlled a long ball, which settled him up perfectly to make it 2-0.

Conceicao decided to throw in Leao, who just recently came back from injury. The introduction of the Portuguese made an immediate impact, as he was brought down by Mkhitaryan for a free kick.

From the edge of the area, Theo Hernandez curled the resulting free kick past Yann Sommer to reduce the scoreline.

Milan completed the comeback in the 80th minute. Leao sent Hernandez sprinting down the left, then the Frenchman pulled back for Pulisic to find the bottom corner from 12 yards.

Once again, Rafael Leao came through for AC Milan, as his assists settled the Milan derby. The Portuguese ran onto the Pulisic through ball, pulled it across for another substitute Abraham, whose tap-in won the trophy for the Rossoneris.

The extraordinary comeback made it Milan’s first trophy under new coach Sergio Conceicao, after just two games.

Meanwhile, Milan are lifting their first Supercoppa trophy since 2016.
