Chelsea clinched their first Premier League win since August 25 tonight courtesy of a 2-0 win over London rivals Fulham at the Craven Cottage. Two quick-fire goals from Mykhailo Mudryk and injury returnee Armando Broja gave the Blues their first league win over Fulham in two years.
The Blues who have failed to score a goal in their last 3 matches did control the opening minutes of this proceedings, and could’ve gotten themselves an early goal 80 seconds into the game when Armando Broja found himself in a promising position, only to blast his effort wide of target in what turned out to have been an offside effort.
18 minutes later, Mauricio Pochettino’s men got the opener through an unlikely source in Mykhailo Mudryk who did justice to Levi Colwill’s cross to score his first goal in the colours of Chelsea, since his January switch from Shakhtar Donetsk. Luckily, it was against Fulham he recorded his first start in the Chelsea shirt in February playing only 45 minutes.
Roughly two minutes later, the Blues doubled their tally via Broja Armando who was in the right place at the right time to guide Tim Ream’s clearance to Bernd Leno into the net.
Fulham came into the second half searching for a way back into the game, but Carlos Vinicius, Alex Iwobi and Sasa Lukic couldn’t convert their chances, enabling Robert Sanchez to see out another clean sheet.
