Mudryk scored to seal maximum points for Chelsea

On Monday night, Mykhailo Mudryk was a super substitute for Mauricio Pochettino, silencing wailing Newcastle at the Stamford Bridge. The Ukrainian scored barely five minutes into his introduction to the game to record his fourth goal of the season.

Chelsea, with epileptic results in recent times, needed a win to keep their hopes of a European competition alive, and so did their hard-fought 3-2 win over Newcastle last night. 

Nickolas Jackson piped Cole Palmers’ solo shot in the sixth minute for an opener before Alexander Isak restored parity in the 43rd minute.

However, Chelsea got the better of their visitors in the second half.

Goals scored by Cole Palmer and Mudryk gave the Blues a two-goal lead in the 76th minute.

The Magpies then reduced the deficit in the 90th minute with Jacob Murphy’s strike.
