Dejounte Murray made his highly anticipated return to the court for the New Orleans Pelicans, starting in their game against the Toronto Raptors. Unfortunately, his return wasn’t enough to secure a win, as the Pelicans fell 119-93.
Murray, who had been sidelined since October 24 with a left hand fracture, finished the game with 14 points on 5/17 shooting. Despite his rusty start, going 0/11 from the field initially, Murray’s presence on the court was a welcome boost for the Pelicans.
However, the team’s overall performance was lackluster, with Murray himself describing it as “disgusting”. The Pelicans were without several key players, including Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, Trey Murphy III, and Jose Alvarado, which likely contributed to their struggles.
The loss drops the Pelicans to 4-15 on the season, and they’ll look to bounce back on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
