The New Orleans Pelicans outlasted the Phoenix Suns 82-73 on Tuesday night in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion thanks to many strong offensive performances and a scoring advantage in the paint.

The majority of the game was played in close competition, with the Pelicans winning each quarter by an average margin of four points. Despite making 20 errors, New Orleans outscored the Suns 34–28 in the paint. Both teams struggled from the field, but the Pelicans’ 43.5 percent success percentage was still far higher than Phoenix’s 35.9 percent mark.

With 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists, Hunter Hale led the Suns. The 11 points, five assists, and one rebound that Grant Sherfield contributed. In addition to his nine points, Trey Jemison had 11 rebounds, two assists, and one block.

Tevian Jones led the Pelicans in scoring with 16 points and added five rebounds. 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, three blocks, and one steal were all contributed by Karlo Matkovic. Dereon Seabon finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Frank Bartley and Dyson Daniels both scored 10 points while also contributing eight assists and four rebounds.
