Neymar relishes his return after one year on the sideline

Neymar Jr expressed his joy over his return to football, after being out for a year, due to an ACL injury.

The Brazilian beamed with excitement after making his first appearance for Al-Hilal in yesterday’s Asian Champions League win over Al Ain.

“I feel good. It’s been so hard. I always have a good team, but I’m so, happy to be back. I’m back, I’m back”, Neymar said.

The forward ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee, against Uruguay in October 2023.

He then underwent surgery the next month and has been out since then. Following his recovery, he was named in the squad against Al-Ain and came off the bench in the 77th minute.

The reigning Saudi Pro League champions won 5-4, in a thrilling match, which saw two hat-tricks and a red card.

Before the injury, Neymar made just five appearances for Al-Hilal, having joined in August 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain.
