Chelsea served Tottenham Hotspur their first loss of the season courtesy of Nicolas Jackson’s second-half hat-trick and Cole Palmer’s first-half goal from the spot to cancel Devan Kulusevski’s 6th-minute opener.

Although Mauricio Pochettino assured a natural approach game whilst looking forward to an entertaining return to his former home, the first half of the encounter was Spurs running the show, and it wasn’t surprising when Kulusevski put the host head inside the opening 10 minutes.

The next few minutes of the game saw three goals disallowed for a handball and offsides for both sides before Palmer restored parity for the Blues in the 35th minute from the spot that resulted from Cristian Romero’s challenge that earned him his marching orders.

It looked as though Spurs had Chelsea under the lock despite being one man down, but their game plan took a hit when Destiny Udogie’s second yellow card reduced the host to nine men, although it wasn’t until 20 minutes after that Chelsea took the lead.

It was Nicolas Jackson’s show theron, as Senegalese benefited from Chelsea’s counterattacks to score three goals despite being poor for most of the game.
