AC Milan has completed the signing of Marco Sportiello from fellow Seria A team, Atalanta, on a free transfer scheme.

Sportiello put pen to paper on a four-year contract that’ll see him ply his trade at the club until 30 June 2027, serving as a deputy to Mike Maignan between the sticks.

The goalkeeper came through Atalanta’s youth sector and then played for Seregno, Poggibonsi, and Carpi before returning to Atalanta to make 88 appearances between 2013 and 2017.

In January 2017 he moved to Fiorentina, where he played 39 games, followed by a move to Frosinone for the 2018-19 season, where he featured 36 times.

Ahead of the 2019-20 season, he returned to Atalanta again and brought his appearances for his boyhood club up to 136, but he has decided to leave in search of a new adventure.

Milan has confirmed that Sportiello will don the number 57 jersey ahead of the upcoming season.
