Official: Pau Cubarsi signs new deal with Barcelona

Barcelona’s rising talent Pau Cubarsi has solidified his commitment to the club by signing a new deal that runs until 2027.

17-year-old Cubarsi who has showcased remarkable progress this season, will continue to grace Camp Nou until at least June 2027.

The club’s statement reads, “FC Barcelona and Pau Cubarsí have reached an agreement to extend the centre-back’s contract with the club through to 30 June 2027. The player’s buyout clause has been set at 500 million euros.

“The defender put pen to paper this Thursday morning at an event also attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta; first vice-president Rafa Yuste; the director responsible for youth football, Joan Soler; and sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza Deco.”

Cubarsi has made 20 senior appearances (17 starts) following his debut in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey match against Unionistas on January 28, 2024.

The 17-year-old was voted man of the match when Barça eliminated Napoli from the UEFA Champions League in March.
