Following his cameo appearance in Manchester United’s loss against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, United have released a statement confirming Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s injury.
United who only recently just lost Shaw to an injury has lost another full back in the space of weeks ahead of their first Champions League march of the season against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The club’s official statement reads: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during the closing stages of Saturday’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
“The right-back came on as an 85th-minute substitute, having started the game on the bench after battling illness during the week.
“Further assessment will be needed to determine how long Wan-Bissaka will be out for, but initial indications suggest it will be several weeks.”
With the absence of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Raphael Varane, Wan-Bissaka’s injury makes it four first-team defenders unavailable for selection for Erik Ten Hag.
