Cole Palmer has won the PFA Young Player of the Year award, becoming the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard.

Palmer edged last year’s winner Bukayo Saka, and Manchester United duo Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

The 22-year-old had an impressive first campaign with Chelsea, scoring 22 league goals to finish five goals behind golden boot winner, Erling Haaland.

The Manchester City product switched to London in search of playing time and had a breakout campaign just months of the move to Stamford Bridge.

He was instrumental to the Blues sealing a European spot, notching up 11 Premier League assists alongside his impressive haul of goals.

He also netted two Premier League hat-tricks in three matches with the first coming against bitter rival, Manchester United.

The Englishman’s impressive displays earned him a call-up to England’s Euro 2024 squad, and although he had limited appearance, he showed his quality when called upon.

Palmer has now won Chelsea Fans’ Player of the Year, Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year, Premier League Young Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year.

Cole Palmer becomes only the second Chelsea player in history to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
