Manchester United might need to sell a number of players this summer to earn a sizable amount of additional transfer funds. It is no news that in order for any club to catch up with the best players domestically and internationally, they need to spend more money.

Man United finished third in the Premier League, however they lagged champions City by 14 points and nine points behind runner-up Arsenal. There are hopes that continuous success and title bids are not far off given that United will be back in the Champions League next season, will have won the Carabao Cup, and will still play in an FA Cup final. However, in order to achieve so, the team will need to be strengthened. If the deal is good, Ten Hag might let a few unimportant players leave, and in return their departures might help fund large-scale movements in other directions.

sixsports.net consider the players who might leave United in order to raise crucial revenue.

Fred

The midfielder may start the FA Cup final game on Saturday versus City, but he still has a chance to leave this summer. He hasn’t played the full 90 minutes for United since February. Due to his age (30) and United’s desire to add some youth to complement their first-choice midfield axis of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, a transfer fee of roughly £20 million might result in his departure.

Eric Bailly

Eric literally has little or no hopes at United having spent the season with Marseille in France. The move included a deal to make the switch permanent but was clause dependent and the centre back didn’t make enough league appearances to trigger a deal. He will most likely be offered to clubs this summer.

Brandon Williams

Brandon has managed just five minutes this season, as a late sub in the Carabao Cup and will be allowed to depart in the summer. The full back spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan with Norwich City and will likely have suitors in the Premier League and upper reaches of the Championship.

Harry Maguire

For Ten Hag, he has slid down the pecking order, and the United manager said the England international will decide whether he moves on or not. Despite a checkered record at Old Trafford over the last season or two, the 30-year-old will still have suitors in the top tier. Although United won’t come close to the £80 million they spent on him, he is still a marketable asset.

Donny van de Beek

The midfielder is back in training and the summer will tell us a lot about his United future. The Dutchman enjoyed success under Ten Hag at Ajax but seems set to depart. He’s been out of action since picking up an injury in January. He’s just 25 but bags wealth of experience behind him, he should still command a respectable fee.

Anthony Elanga

Anthony has slipped down the pecking order this season and a move away might suit all parties. The young Swede has made 21 league starts for United since arriving but it’s hard to imagine him getting much of a look in going forward given the competition.

Alex Telles

Surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and has been on loan at Sevilla this season, where he could end the campaign with a Europa League winner’s medal.

Dean Henderson

This season, the goalkeeper spent time at Nottingham Forest on loan. Despite an injury that ended his season early, he still managed to make 20 appearances to help Steve Cooper’s team avoid the bottom. Henderson’s time at United appears to be coming to an end. According to reports, Forest is willing to pay up to £30 million for Henderson and has also stated the wage they are willing to offer.
