Paris Saint-Germain survived a big hurdle, as they claimed a comeback win from two-goal deficit against Ligue 2 side, USL Dunkerque.
A double from Ousmane Dembele and goals from Desire Doue and Marquinhos sealed the comeback for PSG. The victory qualifies Les Parisiens for their 21st Coupe de France final.
Dunkerque, who are making their second-ever appearance in the tournament, and first in 85 years, stunned PSG to a 2-0 lead.
The Seasiders seemed confident, having knocked out two Champions League participants (Lille and Stade Brestois) already this season. They took an early lead against Luis Enrique’s side, when former PSG academy player, Alec Georgen flicked the ball from a free-kick to Vincent Sasso, who poked home to give the hosts the lead inside seven minutes.
Dunkerque looked to be staging the impossible as they got the second goal. Muhannad Al Saad, who was fed the ball through on goal by Gaetan Courtet, bursted forward before finishing past Safonov.
Les Parisiens fought back however, as they reduced the scoreline before half-time. Dembele made a tricky run in the box and fired a powerful strike past Ewen Jaouen in the 45th minute to make it 2-1.
The Ligue 1 leaders levelled things straight from the second half, after Marquinhos headed home Dembele’s corner-kick, three minutes into the second interval.
Desire Doue then put the visitors ahead in the 62nd minute, when his deflected shot beat Jaouen.
Dembele got his brace as he sealed the comeback, sending PSG into the Coupe de France final. The former Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona forward has now scored his 32nd goal across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, PSG will face either Cannes or Reims, who meet on Wednesday, as they hope to lift their 16th Coupe de France title.
