Paris Saint-Germain defeated Angers 1-0 at home to clinch the 2024/25 Ligue 1 title, despite having six matches remaining.

The win saw PSG secured their 13th Ligue 1 title and a fourth straight title, while also maintaining their unbeaten league record this season.

The Parisiens controlled the entirety of the game, acclaiming 81% possession and recording 20 shots. Meanwhile, Angers recorded no single effort in the game.

However, Luis Enrique’s side were only able to take home the victory by a lone goal.

Goncalo Ramos and Vitinha had chances to get Enrique’s PSG ahead, but the away side managed to hold them off during the first half.

Les Parisiens later broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, after Desire Doue volleyed home Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s cross.

The hosts continued to control the game, while also pushing to add to the tally. Meanwhile, Angers goalkeeper, Yahia Fofana, stood sturdy to deny Fabian Ruiz’s volley four minutes later.

The visitors nearly got the equaliser, as they had a penalty appeal waved away by the referee and later by VAR.

Paris Saint-Germain went on to claim all three points, as they clinched the league title, despite having six more games to play.

The French giants will now place all focus on their Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa in midweek.
