Portuguese international, Rafael Leao has signed a new five-year deal with AC Milan until June 2028, with a release clause of €175m.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old is set to take home around £4.3m per year with a £1.7m coming from add-ons and an undisclosed signing-on fee.
The club’s official statement read: “AC Milan is pleased to announce that Rafael Alexandre da Conceição Leão has renewed his contract with the Club until 30 June 2028.
“Since joining in the summer of 2019, Rafa boasts 162 appearances, 41 goals and 29 assists for the Rossoneri, and was named ‘Best Player in Serie A’ last season.
“AC Milan and Rafael continue their journey together.”
Leao also revealed his delight with the contract extension, saying: “I am very happy. It’s something I wanted to do and now it is done.
“We hope to do great things together in future. We reached an agreement and I am very happy. Now our focus goes to the Verona game and then next season when we want to win many important things.”
