Real Madrid defeated Mexican side Pachuca 3-0, to secure the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Los Blancos makes it their second title of the season as they first collected the UEFA Super Cup in August.

Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. gave the Spanish giants a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Mexican side.

Madrid opened the scoring in the 37th minute, following a nice team play. Started as Federico Valverde fed Jude Bellingham a nice through ball, before Vinicius was set up against the goalkeeper, only for the the Brazilian to brilliantly beat the goalkeeper, then cutback to Mbappe to score the opener.

Eight minutes into the second half, Real Madrid would grab their second courtesy of Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian winger did wonderfully well to retain the ball on the edge of the Pachuca penalty area, and he managed to fashion enough space to fire into the far corner in wonderful fashion.

However, the Spanish champions sealed the contest in the 84th minute with Vinicius’ penalty. The Brazilian winger made it his 14th goal of the season from after Lucas Vazquez was fouled.

Real Madrid are now the first winner of the newly-created annual tournament, which replaces the FIFA Club World Cup.
