Mohamed Salah’s future remains uncertain as he approaches the end of his Liverpool contract, set to expire in summer 2025.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward is open to listening to offers, and according to Diario Sport, Barcelona may be interested. They had previously shown interest in Salah in 2021, but talks fell through because of Liverpool’s high asking price and Salah’s wage demands.
Next summer could be different, though, as he could leave on a free transfer if he doesn’t renew his contract. Salah hasn’t shared his plans yet, but after scoring against Brighton, he posted a hint on social media, saying he will never forget scoring at Anfield “no matter what happens.”
If Salah does decide to move on, he’ll likely have plenty of offers, given his standout performances for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017. Despite his age, he continues to play exceptionally well, scoring nine goals across all competitions this season.
Barcelona, on the other hand, isn’t short on goals, having scored 40 times in La Liga this season—their second-highest total after 12 games in club history.
Still, Liverpool fans will be anxiously waiting to see if Salah decides to stay. While Barcelona is keeping an eye on his situation, they are also reportedly considering a move for Spanish forward Nico Williams next summer.
