Inter and other top clubs in Europe have contacted Feyenoord over a potential trade for star striker Santiago Gimenez. Despite the numerous interests about the striker, Calciomercato reports that San Siro-based team is the most recent to express interest in the Mexico international.
Given that Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic are both 34 years old, Inter wants to sign younger attacking alternatives to take their places. But the 22-year-old has drawn interest from other Serie A teams aside from the Nerazzurri. The likes of top Italian-side starting with rivals AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli—the defending Italian champions have reportedly made an offer for the youngster.
However, there’s even more interest in the attacker because Real Madrid and Barcelona are both keeping a watch on him. Given Gimenez’s stellar performance with Dutch side, Feyenoord, it is not surprising that he is being pursued. This season, he has scored 13 goals in 10 Eredivisie games. In his Champions League debut, he scored two goals as the Rotterdam team defeated Lazio 3-1.
He scored 15 goals in 32 top-flight games at the end of his rookie campaign in the Eredivisie, adding five more in nine Europa League outings. The Mexico international will try to increase his goal total when Feyenoord visits RKC Waalwijk on Saturday.
