Following the passing of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, the Italian football league, Seria A, have postponed matches scheduled for today.
Pope Francis, (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio), died earlier this morning at age 88, having been strongly ill with double pneumonia.
Meanwhile, in honour of the Pope, the Italian league announced that four games from matchday 33 originally scheduled for tonight have been postponed. The games will then be rescheduled for kickoff on April 23.
Additionally, the league confirmed that the Coppa Italia semifinal second leg between AC Milan and Inter will proceed as planned. The return leg was originally scheduled for kickoff on April 23, and will go on as planned.
The four postponed Serie A Round 33 fixtures are:
• Torino vs Udinese
• Cagliari vs Fiorentina
• Genoa vs Lazio
• Parma vs Juventus
