Thaddeus Young, American basketball player, has joined the Phoenix Suns ahead of the Western Conference playoff on Tuesday, February 20th.

Young, 35, is currently the third-most active player with 1,162 career games played, behind LeBron James and Chris Paul. He appeared in 23 games earlier in the season, making six starts and averaging 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

The Suns are currently sixth in the Western Conference playoff rankings. The first round of the best-of-seven tournament is automatically advanced to the top six teams in each conference, avoiding the play-in round that pits the 7–10 seeds against each other.

“Thad is a highly respected veteran player who makes us a better team in our pursuit of winning an NBA championship,” Suns general manager James Jones said in a statement. “Thad is extremely intelligent and plays with a competitive intensity. His size and defensive abilities add versatility to our roster.”

After returning from the NBA All-Star break, Young is anticipated to play with the Suns on Thursday night at the Dallas Mavericks.

The NBA star, after joining his new club, appreciated his former club fans for their support via his X handle.

“Huge thanks to Toronto, my forever family! Grateful for the love, lessons, and memories,” Young tweeted. To my young brothers, keep striving and find your balance. Always here for you. Forever grateful to Raptors. Gratitude. We The North.”
