Ivan Toney is expected to complete his transfer, and Chelsea has identified a new Premier League target. Reports says that Brentford have accepted a proposal for Ivan Toney from the Saudi Pro League team Al-Ahli.

Sources close to the England striker told the BBC they think the trade will go through. This should earn him more than £300,000 a week. The 28-year-old has not participated in any matches for Thomas Frank’s team this season. Apparently, this is because the manager of the Bees has decided to keep him out of the starting lineup due to persistent transfer rumors.

In 2022–2023, Toney had a stellar season as he scored 20 goals in the Premier League. He scored four goals in his first five games of the previous campaign after he serves an eight-month suspension for violating FA betting regulations. Toney’s transfer does not necessarily have to be finalized by today, Friday, August 30, at 11 p.m. as the Saudi transfer window closes on September 2.

However, Brentford’s Premier League rivals Chelsea seem to have already decided who their next striker target is. If Chelsea is unable to sign Toney, who is headed to Al-Ahli, or BapoliVictor Osimhen, they are rumored to be after Everton’s forward Dominic Calvert-Lewis.

With just one year remaining on his current Goodison Park deal, the former England international has drawn the attention of both the Blues and Arsenal. In 29 Premier League games last season, he scored seven goals and added two assists. He also has one goal and one assist in the Carabao Cup. The Gunners are also rumored to be “monitoring” the situation.Chelsea may face familiar competition in their race to sign Calvert-Lewis.

However, Calvert-Lewis’ chances of landing at Stamford Bridge may be aided by the Toffees’ interest in signing Blues forward David Datro Fofana. Currently, Marc Guiu, a recent transfer, started both legs of Chelsea’s Europa Conference League play-off match against Swiss team Servette, but Nicolas Jackson is Enzo Maresca’s preferred choice at number nine.
