Japan defeated Netherlands 2-0 while Korea DPR topped USA by a lone goal to set up an all-Asian final on Sunday.
The 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup final will be a rematch of the 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup final.
Japan will be hoping to take their revenge having lost 2-1 in the AFC finals to the Koreans in March.
The Japanese women advanced to their third straight finals after defeating the Netherlands while Korea DPR are reaching their fourth U20 Women’s World Cup final.
The young Nadeshiko side had a perfect three wins in three matches in the group stage. They went on to defeat Nigeria and Spain before the semi final triumph over the Dutch side.
The North Koreans also had a similar road to the finals. They won all three groups matches, including a 9-0 thrashing of Costa Rica. They also overcame Austria and Brazil, before the success over the Americans.
A win over Japan will mean a double final win over their Asian rivals, following the AFC success.
Meanwhile, USA will battle with Netherlands in Saturday’s Third-Place Play-off.
