Real Madrid came from a goal down to secure another UEFA Champions League (UCL) final berth courtesy of Joselu’s second-half brace against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

After wrenching a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Allianz Arena last week, Madrid came into the second leg with a winning intent that was backed by the Santiago Bernabéu crowd.

It was Manuel Neuer’s brilliance that kept Bayern in the game in the first half, as the German was alert to deny Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo.

The visitors also threatened through Harry Kane late in the half, but the Englishman’s volley missed the target, setting the Bernabéu up for one of the most dramatic second halves in the history of the UCL semi-final.

Madrid resumed brightly, as Vinicius continued terrorizing the Bavarians’ defence, but it was Bayern who broke the deadlock with a stunning strike from Alphonso Davies in the 68th minute after a brilliant pass from Kane.

In a surprising turn of events, Neuer’s mistake led to an equaliser for Real in the 88th minute as substitute Joselu buried the goalkeeper’s fumbled save.

About three minutes later, Joselu struck again from Antonio Rüdiger’s pass, completing a remarkable comeback and sending the Bernabéu into jubilation.

This victory means Madrid will face Borrusia Dortmund in the UCL final on June 1 at Wembley Stadium, following the BVB outfit’s victory over PSG last night.
