Ahead of RB Leipzig’s second UEFA Champions League game of the campaign against defending champions Manchester City tomorrow, the club’s manager Marco Rose, has vowed that his side won’t go down without a fight.

Leipzig will welcome Pep Guardiola’s City at the RB Arena tomorrow night and will be looking to avenge their last season’s 7-0 ouster from the competition, having gone seven games unbeaten so far this season.

“The most important thing is that we believe in ourselves at home with the fans behind us and bring energy onto the pitch,” the 47-year-old manager said.

He continued: “We want to be brave and face the challenge head on. We’ll give it a good go and use the opportunity to test ourselves against this opposition. We want to cause problems for City in certain areas of the pitch, score goals and keep things tight at the back.

“A lot of things need to go our way, but games like this are why we play football. It’ll have to be a top performance.

“We know how good City are and what to expect tomorrow, even though they’ve lost their last two games. We also know that we’ll need a little bit of luck against a team of their calibre.”

Marco Rose on the Defending Champions’ Squad

The German international believes that even with the absence of De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, City’s squad is still very much a top team.

“Even with De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva injured, Kovacic and Foden can come into the team. They’ve signed Doku, who’s an amazing dribbler. He brings something different to their game when Grealish doesn’t play.

“They’ve also picked up our Josko and we’ve all seen how good he is. They’re a top team and we’re looking forward to tomorrow as a result. We’re not going to go down without a fight. At the end of the day, it’s 11 vs 11,” he said.

What to Expect Tomorrow

Although RB Leipzig haven’t lost to English oppositions at their home ground, with three wins and 1 stalemate, the fixture against City tomorrow strongly contends that.

Guardiola’s side are coming from a consecutive loss to Newcastle and Wolves, which further demands a positive outcome against their familiar foe tomorrow.
