Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid face off again for the Last-16 second-leg of Champions League, as the hosts hopes to stage a comeback in the derby.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid took home the victory in the first-leg, with a 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz gave Los Blancos the win, with Julian Alvarez, netting the only goal for Atletico.

Despite losing the first leg, Diego Simeone’s side have had a solid record against their rivals lately, particularly on home soil. They have only lost once in their last seven home matches against Madrid (three wins, three draws).

Simeone’s men are also unbeaten in the last five derbies in cup competitions on their own ground, winning four and drawing one.

However, Real Madrid have progressed from 21 of their last 22 Champions League knockout ties when winning the first leg.

The defending champions have also won or advanced from all five of the teams’ previous ties in the knockout stages of the tournament.

Diego Someone’s Madrid will hope to utilise the home advantage as they fight for a comeback.
