UEFA SUPER CUP: Ancelotti expects tough Atlanta challenge

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti anticipates a tough test when they play Italian side Atlanta in the UEFA super cup on Wednesday night.

While Speaking to the media ahead of ahead of the encounter, Ancelotti said they have absolute respect for their opponent whilst emphasizing on Atlanta’s threats.

“We know they are able to win these games, so we respect them. They are a dangerous team that plays in a unique way.”Ancelotti told (via @MadridXtra on X)

“Atalanta are here because they deserve it. Gaseperini is a fantastic coach, we worked together at Juventus and he’s tactically an incredible manager. We are expecting a tough game.

“I think Atalanta did very well in the Europa League thanks to the good work of the team and its coach. Gasperini is very good, and they will be a very difficult opponent for us. It will be a competitive match,” Ancelotti concluded.

Real Madrid won 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund in the 2023-24 Champions League final, while Atalanta won 3-0 against reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.

The annual UEFA Super Cup is contested by the winners of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Both teams will meet at the National Stadium Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday.
