Following a 3-0 victory over Southampton last Saturday, Man United defeated Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, with a brace from Marcus Rashford and a shot from Alejandro Garnacho.

Amad Diallo, one among United’s many alternatives, is also off to a strong start this season. Erik ten Hag’s first-choice wide options have been Rashford and Amad, but the Argentina international is now fighting to start on Saturday in south east London.

In the closing moments of the victory at St. Mary’s, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez all hobbled off. However, Ten Hag deemed all three of them fit for play this week, with Martinez staying in the substitute lineup. Then Mazraoui and de Ligt replacing the injured players in the second half of the Barnsley match.

Luke Shaw and Hojlund may be sidelined again for Manchester United’s trip to Crystal Palace this weekend. Out of the two, Hojlund is more likely to feature this weekend but ten Hag will give a latest update on the pair on Thursday.

While Mason Mount has reportedly returned to training following his latest injury setback, Saturday’s trip to Selhurst Park is likely to come too soon for him.

Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, and Leny Yoro remain out for United. Shaw’s calf problem, which he suffered in August, was diagnosed as an injury that would heal after September’s international break. The England international was absent against Saints and Barnsley.

Manuel Ugarte will be hoping to make his first Premier League start after getting an hour under his belt midweek. Crystal Palace vs Man United kicks off at 5:30pm on Saturday 21 September.

Predicted Man United XI to face Crystal Palace

Andre Onana, Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Lizandro Martinez, Dalot, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amad Dialo, Fernandes, Marcus Rashford.
