Manchester United has issued a statement this evening that Mason Mount will be unavailable for the clash against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The midfielder reportedly picked up the injury in United’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and is expected to be out until the international break next month.

The club’s official confirmation reads: “Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

“The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month.

“The England midfielder has started both of our Premier League games so far this season after making his competitive debut for the club in last week’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.”

Ever since arriving at Manchester United from Chelsea in the summer, Mount has been an integral part of the Ten Hag’s setup, although he’s yet to give convincing performances, which may be excused since the club’s performances as a whole have been shambolic, ever since the new season started.

With a scrappy win against Wolves and a loss to Spurs, United will be hoping to pick maximum points when they face Nottingham Forest this weekend.
