Vicario Analyzes Crucial Saves in Spurs’ 2-0 Victory over United

Following Tottenham Hotspur deserved 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday, the London side goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario spoke at length about the crucial saves he made in the game.

Vicario who kept his first clean sheet for the side was highly instrumental to the home side’s victory, brilliantly denying clear-cut chances from Marcus Rashford and Casemiro.

Reacting to his performances, the Italian international said: “For Rashford, instead of going out, I tried to cover as much space as I can. It was a good save in the first half. Casemiro… it was close to the goal, a strong header and I thought I made a big save in a big moment of the match. We were 1-0 up and we were pushing, but if you go 1-1 it could be a different game.

“It’s something we work on a lot, and we try to react as quickly as possible to the header. There is a lot of work behind the scenes, and I have to keep working a lot, because I want to improve every day. To be able to help my teammates… it’s our win, we deserve it a lot.”

On the team’s overall performance, the 26-year-old added: “I’m happy, but the most important thing for me is to give help to my team-mates because when we win, we win all together.

“The happiest thing about this match is winning together. We suffered as well, but we attacked, and played such good football. We are so happy, we have to enjoy it, but now we have to focus on the next one, to keep working. We are in a good mental and physical state now, but the league is so hard, we have to stay focussed and try to improve.”
