Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been given a two-match ban following his red card for violent conduct against Valencia last week.

Vinicius received his marching order for slapping Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski in the face.

Madrid were trailing 1-0 when the incident happened, but ultimately recovered and won 2-1 at the Mestalla stadium.

The Brazilian was expected to receive a suspension of two to four games, following his misconduct and rift at the touchline.

After an appeal by the club, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), suspended the Brazilian for two league games.

However, he was cleared to participate in the Supercopa de Espana Spanish, as it wass not a sanction that has been applied across all competitions, but only in La Liga.

Vinicius will be missing for the next two league matches, against Las Palmas (home) and Real Valladolid (away).

The Brazilian will however be available for Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final on Thursday against Mallorca.
