Vinicius Junior scored a hat-trick in Real Madrid’s stunning second-half comeback against Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In a repeat of last year’s final, Los Blancos stunned the Germans 5-2, after losing 2-0 in the first half of the game.
Goals from Donyell Malen and Brynoe Jamie Gittens gave Dortmund a comfortable lead at half-time.
However, Antonio Rudiger pulled one back for the reigning champions with a towering header in the 60th minute. Vinicius then scored two minutes later, to make it all squared.
Real Madrid kept pushing hard and asking more questions. They finally made it three as Captain Lucas Vazquez scored from a tight angle in the 83rd minute.
After taking the lead, the home side looked unstoppable afterwards and they got two more goals, courtesy of the Ballon d’Or favourite, Vinicius.
The Brazilian made it 4-2 with an impressive solo run. He picked up the ball in his own half, raced down the left and firing a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
He then got his third and Madrid’s fifth, with another brilliant solo run to cement the stunning comeback.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now won two and lost one of their three league phase matches, same as Dortmund.
