Real Madrid attacker, Vinicius Jnr. has been crowned the 2024 FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year.
Vinicius won the prestigious award, beating off fierce competitions from Los Blancos teammates, Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal, alongside Ballon d’Or winner, Rodri.
Having lost the Ballon d’Or award to the Spanish and Manchester City midfielder, Vinicius promised to come back stronger.
He went on to write on X: “I’ll do it 10 times if I have to. They’re not ready.”
Although the voting period was over before the Ballon d’Or award ceremony, the Brazilian was able to claim the FIFA most prestigious individual awards.
The talented winger helped Real Madrid win La Liga and the Champions League in 2023-24, which gave him the recognition at FIFA’s annual awards ceremony in Doha.
He followed in the footsteps of Los Blancos stars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric, who have previously won the gong.
Other nominees for the awards includes Erling Haaland, Lamine Yamal, Florian Wirtz, Toni Kroos, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
Vinicius was also one of five Madrid players, including the now-retired Toni Kroos, to make FIFA’s Best Men’s XI, alongside Antonio Rudiger, Dani Carvajal and Bellingham.
