Juventus earned a 1-0 away victory over Cagliari, courtesy of an early strike from forward Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian pounced on an error from Yerry Mina, for his ninth Serie A goal of the season to give the Old Ladies all three points.
Coming from the Champions League play-offs crash to PSV Eindhoven, the Bianconeri secured a crucial victory to sit 4th on the log. They also extended their league win run to five games.
The game started with the away side dictating the play. Vlahovic made an immediate impact for Juve, pouncing ahead of Yerry Mina on the wayward Michel Adopo back-pass and sprinting around Elia Caprile to score from a tight of angle.
The Old Ladies almost doubled the lead when Kenan Yildiz controlled a long Michele Di Gregorio clearance to run clear on goal. He was however denied as Caprile rushed off his line and made stop the Turkish international.
The Cagliari goalkeeper also denied Francisco Conceicao, and another attempt from Yildiz on the counter-attack.
Cagliari had few chances but was weak to find the net. Nadir Zortea fired straight at Di Gregorio from the edge of the area, while Adopo’s header was also met by the visitors goalkeeper.
The hosts continued to push forward, as they sought to find the equaliser. However, Florinel Coman blasted just wide of the near post and Zappa fired past the far bottom corner.
Meanwhile, Vlahovic’s goal was enough to seal all three points for the Old Ladies.
