Russell Westbrook just made history by posting his 200th career triple-double in the Denver Nuggets’ 122-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. He achieved this milestone with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists, solidifying his position as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
What’s impressive is that Westbrook reached this milestone late in the game, grabbing his only offensive rebound with 1:28 left to play. His teammates, including Julian Strawther, were in awe of his accomplishment, with Strawther saying, “200 triple-doubles is a lot. I don’t even know if I’ve got 200 career games”.
Westbrook’s record extends his lead over Oscar Robertson, who holds the second spot with 181 triple-doubles. Magic Johnson ranks third with 138, followed by Nikola Jokic with 136, and LeBron James with 117.
Westbrook’s achievement is a testament to his endurance, skill, and dedication to the sport. As he said, “It’s a blessing, I’m truly grateful to be able to play the game well enough to do that”.
