Now that Fulham is interested in signing Frederico Rodrigues, there are rumours that Manchester United may decide to let him leave this summer. On the final day of the 2022–23 season, Fred provided assists for both of United’s goals against Fulham, ensuring his team’s third-place finish in the Premier League.
Fred has improved his play for United in recent seasons, but his deal is set to expire in June 2024, which might lead to a transfer. United have received a couple of proposals for Fred, including one from Sunday’s opponents Fulham. They are currently debating whether to sell the Brazilian this summer in order to perhaps finance upcoming purchases.
After the game on Sunday, Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, is seen talking to Fred outside of Old Trafford. Last summer, the Cottagers were successful in luring Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, and they may be successful again this summer.
In Erik ten Hag’s midfield, Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer were occasionally preferred to Fred, who only made 22 starts for United in the 22/23 season, the fewest since his first campaign with the club in 2018-19. On June 3, United will play against Man City to win the FA Cup.
