The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been charged by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to work harder in order to achieve the greatest outcome possible against Australia in their second Group B matchup at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Falcons’ spirited draw against Canada in their opening Group B match received praise and encouragement from the former Nigerian minister of finance. She extends her warmest wishes to the squad as they prepare for their crucial match against Australia on thursday July 27, 2023.
In a tweet on Sunday, Okonjo-Iweala wrote, “Hello Super Falcons! Congratulations on an incredible effort in your draw with Canada. Wishing you the best in the upcoming Australia match up!!!”
The Super Falcons had played their first match which happened to be a goalless draw with Canada on Friday, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi saving a penalty to deny the North Americans all three points.
