Xavi reverses decision, commits future to Barcelona

Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has decided to commit his future to the club until at least the conclusion of his contract in June 2025, retracting his earlier announcement that this season would be his last.

Despite previously stating his intention to step down in January, the 44-year-old has now opted to remain Barça’s coach, following discussions with President Joan Laporta on Wednesday.

Xavi who assumed the managerial position in November 2021 after departing Al Sadd, led Barcelona to the Spanish title in his inaugural full season during the 2022-23 campaign.

The Spaniard’s reversed decision decision has not been officially communicated by the club.
